3D Hubs buys Romanian 3D printing optimisation software startup Printivate

The Netherlands-based 3D Hubs, which operates the world’s largest online marketplace for 3D printing services, has acquired Printivate, a specialised service for optimising and fixing 3D models.

3D Hubs will integrate Printivate's technology in its platform to improve 3D file handling and printability prediction.

Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Adrian Muresan, founder and CEO of Printivate, will join the 3D Hubs team as R&D lead at its Amsterdam office.

The acquired company, which is based in Cluj-Napoca (Romania), was founded only a little over a year ago.
