Apple has acquired the Finnish sleep sensor Beddit, dubbed the "Fitbit for sleep", which helps users control snoring and sleep quality. The amount of the deal was not disclosed.

Beddit helps users control their sleep using a band with a sensor that is placed in the bed. Their latest sensor measures snoring, how long and efficiently the user sleeps, heart rate, breathing, temperature, movements, and the room's temperature and humidity. The sensor is not free, however - the sensor strip costs around €150.

Beddit's products have been available in Apple stores since the end of 2015. The acquisition is representative of an increased interest in health on behalf of tech giants.
