Israel’s Cellwize acquires crowdsourced network analytics startup CrowdX

Israeli mobile optimisation company Cellwize has acquired CrowdX, a network analytics startup. No financials were disclosed.

Cellwize, the Israeli startup that provides mobile optimisation solutions, has announced the acquisition of CrowdX, a developer of crowdsourcing mobile analytics. No financial details were disclosed.

Cellwize, which is now based in Singapore and provides Self Organising Network (SON) solutions, already builds its CrowdView product on CrowdX’s technology, which can be used to crowdsource anonymised data on mobile users to improve services. CrowdX is based in Tel Aviv with an office in California.

“The mobile network environment, consisting of various radio technologies, vendors and services, is becoming ever more complex, making the user experience more difficult to measure and optimize,” said Ofir Zemer, Cellwize CEO.

The teams at CrowdX and Cellwize will now merge, he added, “thereby positioning Cellwize as the only independent SON vendor able to offer such a comprehensive product portfolio.”

“CrowdX brings innovation and experience, complementing the value Cellwize provides to its customers,” said CrowdX CEO Gil Friedlander.

Cellwize raised $24.5 million in funding last year while CrowdX raised millions when it was still known under the name Tawkon, pre-pivot.
