Conversocial acquires US live chat startup Hipmob for undisclosed amount

Customer engagement platform Conversocial has acquired Hipmob, a mobile focused live chat startup. No terms were disclosed.

Hipmob’s product will be integrated into Conversocial. According to Conversocial, the acquisition of Palo Alto-based Hipmob will be a “vital extension” to its platform that will allow the company to bring new features to the product including better live chat integration on web, iOS, and Android. Its clients include Google, Sprint, and Tesco.

“The future of all customer service is in messaging,” said Joshua March, CEO of Conversocial.

“HipMob is a natural fit for Conversocial and will provide us with the ability to seamlessly integrate web-chat and in-app chat functionality at scale.”

Live chat and in-app messaging remains an important tool for customer engagement, added Hipmob CEO Ayo Omojola.

“Becoming a part of Conversocial’s industry leading platform is testament to the power of multi-channel engagement and will serve to broaden and strengthen the relationship between customer and brand.”

Conversocial was founded in the UK but is now headquartered in New York. It maintains a London presence.
