Hotel booking and comparison startup DreamCheaper raises €1.5 million

DreamCheaper, a Berlin-based travel tech startup, has raised €1.5 million from Holtzbrinck Ventures, TruVenturo, and a number of business angels.

DreamCheaper’s service allows travellers to search for cheaper rates on hotel rooms they have booked and re-book the room at the lower prices. The startup searches through over a hundred different sites to find a cheaper rate. It takes a 20% fee of the saved amount.

The new funds will be used for marketing and expanding into new markets as well as further product development such as improving features for comparing hotels. Its total funding now stands at €2.5 million.

“A large part our users already asked us to get alternative accommodation proposals in order to get the absolutely lowest price in that area. With the new investment we are reacting to this request,” said Nathan Zielke, managing director of DreamCheaper.
