Berlin's EcoIntense raises €22 million for its sustainability software

Germany’s EcoIntense, which makes software for safety and sustainability compliance, has raised €22 million from One Peak Partners as well as investment funds managed by Morgan Stanley Expansion Capital.

The new funds will be used for the company’s international growth and further product development for its EcoWebDesk SaaS platform. The software is used by businesses to manage their health, safety, and environment (HPE) processes and legal compliance.

Previous investors from the company’s seed round, BBAF Business Angels Fondsgesellschaft and Wecken & Cie, have sold their shares in the company. The deal is “one of our best exits in recent years,” said Wecken & Cie’s Frank Hölzle. High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF) still maintains a stake in the company.

“Securing these reputable investors highlights yet again the success the company has achieved in recent years,” said HTFG’s Markus Kreßmann on the new investment and investors.

Morgan Stanley Expansion Capital will be supporting the company’s expansion into new markets, said Robert Bassman, a managing principal at the firm.

“We have known the One Peak and Morgan Stanley Expansion Capital teams for some time now and have jointly defined the parameters of the transaction. That’s why we are now excited about embarking on the next steps of our journey together,” said Markus Becker, CEO of EcoIntense.

Gerhard Wacker of PwC Legal, Vogel Heerma Waitz, and Cooley LLP advised the parties on the new investment.
