Instana, a German startup that automates application performance monitoring, has secured $30 million in a funding round led by Meritech Capital with participation from Accel, which also led its previous $20 million round. The capital injection will be used to expand the company's product line.

Instana's APM solution is there to monitor the performance of containerised microservices in complex software applications to bring actionable data to the customers. Its clients include large enterprises with extensive software infrastructure like Audi, ClearScore, Sixt Rent a car, Edmunds.com, Yahoo Japan, Macmillan Learning, and Franklin American Mortgage.

Founded in 2015, the company stated that it reached an annual sales growth of 600 percent in the last fiscal quarter. In total, Instana has raised $57 million to date.
