Farming tech startup KisanHub raises £1.75 million in new funding

KisanHub, a UK agritech startup, has raised £1.75 million led by Notion Capital and IQ Capital with participation from Calibrate Management.

The new funds will be invested in the development of its Crop Intelligence Platform, a data-driven analytical tool for producers and suppliers to predict their farming operations. It has around 3,000 users.

The Cambridge-based company will make a number of senior hires to further develop its machine learning functions – it recently appointed Professor Roberto Cipolla of the Cambridge University engineering department as scientific advisor – and expand its sales and customer success teams.

“KisanHub is on an ambitious mission to create a field level data infrastructure of the future and integrate that data with our Crop Intelligence Platform to deliver actionable insights to enterprises and their growers,” said CEO Dr Sachin Shende. He added that company will soon begin deploying its hardware in the UK.

“The global agriculture industry was slower to see digital progress than many other sectors, however, recent years have brought significant technological innovation and vastly improved access to data,” commented Patrick Norris of lead investor Notion Capital.
