Serbia’s WordPress management service ManageWP acquired by GoDaddy

Serbian WordPress management service ManageWP has been acquired by GoDaddy. No financial details have been disclosed.

ManageWP, headquartered in Belgrade and employing 30, had been self-funded up until this point but had revenues of $1 million in 2015. Post Status, who first broke the story, reports that the company’s founder Vladimir Prevolac is relocating to the US while ManageWP’s staff will join GoDaddy.

The Serbian company recently rebuilt its website management service under the name Orion, which allows customers to manage dozens or hundreds of websites.

ManageWP's head of growth Nemanja Aleksic confirmed the acquisition to tech.eu but declined to elaborate on the deal. An official announcement will be made tomorrow, he said.

Talks between the two sides reportedly began a number of months ago regarding a potential partnership before discussing an acquisition. It’s now understood that ManageWP will continue to exist under its own branding but GoDaddy will explore ways of integrating the tech into its own products.

GoDaddy did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
