French parking app Onepark raises €12 million from SNCF-backed fund

Onepark, an app for booking parking spaces, has raised €12 million in funding from Keolis, the investment fund majority owned by French national railway service SNCF.

Paris-based Onepark is a site and app for finding and booking available car parking spaces in cities and airports; the data is made available through the startup’s partnerships with parking managers, airports, and hotels.

According to the company, it sells around 100,000 hours of parking a day. Currently it has more than a thousand car parks listed in France, Spain, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, and Switzerland.

The new funds will be invested in further product development and redesign of its user experience as well as continuing its European expansion. Alongside its Paris location, the startup has an office in Barcelona and plans to open offices in Berlin and Milan.

The company, which previously raised €2.5 million last year from Keolis (also partly owned by Quebec’s pension fund), faces competition from the likes of Sweden’s EasyPark and numerous car rental firms that also offer car park booking services.
