Danish e-sports startup RFRSH raises €7.2 million in new funding round

RFRSH, an e-sports entertainment startup based in Copenhagen, has raised €7.2 million from Creandum, the founders of Supercell, and investors Tommy Ahlers and David Helgason

RFRSH, which launched last December, describes itself as an e-sports media house and live entertainment producer. The new funds will be invested in original content and live entertainment products. The company has commercial management deals with three major Counter-Strike (CS:GO) teams, Astralis, Heroic, and GODSENT.

The company will be launching the new products later in 2017, said CEO Nikolaj Nyholm.

“This will include the launch of a range of new unique content and media packages, game changing live events and a further strengthening of the organization around the CS:GO teams benefitting the teams, fans and the partners.”

RFRSH originally raised around €4 million last December when it launched the company.
