Rocket Internet CFO resigns after four years; Oliver Samwer to take over his duties

Startup builder/investment firm Rocket Internet will have one of its co-founders assume the responsibilities of chief financial officer as its current executive will soon be leaving the role and the company to pursue "a new management challenge".

Having joined Rocket in 2014 from Goldman Sachs, Peter Kimpel (pictured above) will depart the company in the beginning of October. He played a key role in taking the German company public, although its performance on the stock market has been lackluster.

Kimpel commented:

"I am very grateful for the time at Rocket Internet and hope that in my future role I will have the opportunity to continue working with Oliver and the team. With Rocket Internet being very well capitalized and three of the selected companies having successfully gone public, it is the right time to move on."
