Movie ticket subscription service Sinemia raises $1.5 million for its US expansion

Turkey’s Sinemia, a subscription service for cinema tickets, has raised $1.5 million to accelerate its growth in the US. The funding round was led by Revo Capital.

According to the company, it has amassed 22 million users who access unlimited movie tickets and discounts by paying a monthly subscription.

The Istanbul-based company will be focusing strongly on the US market moving forward, having opened a San Francisco office last year.

“We are partnering with Sinemia to help Rifat and his teams deliver the same value proposition to the 235 million moviegoers in the US,” said Revo Capital managing director Cenk Bayrakdar.

“Revo Capital believes in Sinemia’s goals and plans for US expansion,” said founder Rifat Oguz. “Revo’s experience and previous investments in advanced technology will maximize Sinemia’s potential. We will use this investment to accelerate US expansion and continue our growth in Turkey.”
