Amsterdam’s Wercker acquired by Oracle for undisclosed amount

Dutch startup Wercker has been acquired by Oracle. No terms were disclosed.

The Amsterdam-based startup creates tools for testing and deploying code. The startup, founded in 2012, had raised nearly $8 million in funding including a $4.5 million Series A round last year.

According to Oracle, the startup will continue to operate independently until the deal officially closes. No word was given how the two will proceed after that.

“Oracle and Wercker share the view that developers greatly benefit from focusing on building great products and applications,” reads the company’s statement. “Oracle is building a leading IaaS and PaaS platform as the foundation for a new generation of cloud computing.” The startup’s products will help build these platforms, it added.

The deal is Oracle's third acquisition in the space of a couple of weeks, having bought DNS provider Dyn and API testing platform Apiary.
