After five years of bootstrapping, Amsterdam's Growth Tribe raises €3 million to ramp up digital skills training

Dutch startup Growth Tribe, a digital skills training platform, has raised its first-ever funding of €3 million from London-based Rinkelberg Capital. As demand for remote learning, upskilling and reskilling is on the rise, the new funding will go to expanding and digitising Growth Tribe’s course selection.

Moving its classroom-based training online also allows the business to reach new markets more easily, accelerating the international expansion already achieved during five years of bootstrapping. So far the Amsterdam-based startup has campuses in the UK, France, Finland, Denmark and Norway. Founded in 2015, Growth Tribe says it has trained over 15,000 people and 900 companies to date, covering digital skills from growth marketing and user experience to data science and machine learning. The company is named the official training partner of several European enterprises, such as Philips, Ahold, Thuisbezorgd and Rabobank. Commenting on the investment, CEO and co-founder Peter van Sabben said, “After five years of bootstrapping, it is time to accelerate Growth Tribe’s next phase of growth, further expanding our training portfolio, digitising our courses to reach new markets, and developing our learning experience platform.” Marc Slendebroek, CEO of Rinkelberg Capital, says the firm is “excited to support Growth Tribe in its next phase of corporate growth.”
