Improving accuracy of diagnosis, French digital health specialist Incepto rakes in €27 million

Paris-based platform that offers doctors and hospitals access to a portfolio of solutions based on AI, Incepto has raised €27 million in funding to improve the quality of diagnosis, and save time for medical teams, without having to change equipment. The funding will be utilised to support the company’s European expansion. Incepto is rolling out the platform in four new countries in Europe, including Germany, Spain, Italy and Portugal. The startup plans to treat one million European patients per month by 2024.

By extending its geographical coverage and developing its portfolio of applications, Incepto is responding to major public health issues such as reducing waiting times for examinations, mitigating the lack of specialists for certain serious diseases and supporting doctors' work in the face of the increasing amount of data to be analysed.

The round was led by LBO France Venture-Digital Health and backed by Wille Finance and the historical investors AXA Venture Partners, the Patient Autonome fund of Bpifrance and Karista.

Founded in 2018, Incepto aims to offer a platform where AI solutions are applied to medical imaging. With a hundred clinics equipped with their AI solutions and already more than 100,000 patients monitored every month, the startup is helping doctors identify the most efficient solutions and put them at their service, while co-creating new applications with them.

The company’s AI offerings, ARVA and KEROS have been developed for the diagnostic assistance of aortic aneurysms in CT scanners and for MRI of the knee.

The company has also partnered with IBlab, Milvue, PAIRE, Smartsoft and Thirona to expand its portfolio of medical imaging applications for emergency care, oncology, orthopaedics, rheumatology and pneumology.
