Swedish multi-touch systems provider FlatFrog has raised €6.1 million in a round led by investors Finvus Invest (Luxembourg) and Sunstone Capital (Denmark).

Launched in 2006, FlatFrog is a Lund-based provider of in-glass multi-touch performance for large and flat displays. The company has developed a special technology with market-leading touch/pen performance, optical clarity and pressure detection.

The company intends to use the investment—which brings the company’s valuation to €21 million—to finance the continued research and development of its multi-touch technology.

Founder Christer Fåhraeus told Swedish news site DI Digital that the company’s existing market, and the one in which they grow, is the educational sector. However, in the long term, FlatFrog hopes to replace whiteboards, projectors, and televisions in classrooms, boardrooms, and meeting rooms with its touch-sensitive technology.
