Swiss code quality manager SonarSource raises $45 million from Insight Venture Partners

Swiss SonarSource, a code quality management company, has announced the closing of a $45 million minority investment from Insight Venture Partners.

Richard Wells, Managing Director and Matt Gatto, Vice President at Insight will be joining the company's Board of Directors as a result of the deal.

Sonarsource was founded in Switzerland in 2008. Its open source and commercial products help customers to manage the code quality of their applications, reduce their risks and deliver better software. SonarSource solutions support development in 20 programming languages such as Java, C#, Javascript, C/C++, COBOL and more. The company says its open source products have been adopted by more than 80,000 companies worldwide. The company also provides an enterprise-level solution to more than 700 customers, including eBay, Bank of America, and BMW, as well as 50 of the Fortune 100 organizations.

Sonarsource will use the new capital to further accelerate growth.
