French home exchange platform GuesttoGuest raises €33 million and acquires American competitor HomeExchange

The French shared economy startup GuestToGuest, a platform that enables home exchanges for travellers, has just acquired the American startup HomeExchange after raising €33 million. The two founders, Charles-Edouard Girard and Emmanuel Arnaud, relied on the substantial investment to finance the transaction. The funding came from Maif and other previous private investors.

UK-based online travel agent Blue Bay Travel raises £6.5 million

UK-based Blue Bay Travel, an online travel agent , has received a £6.5 million investment from the private equity firm LDC. Blue Bay Travel specialises in holidays to the Caribbean, Mexico and Indian Ocean and provides holidays to more than 16,500 passengers per year, and saw a 31% increase in bookings in 2016.

Priceline acquires UK-based travel metasearch site Momondo Group

The Priceline Group has signed a deal to acquire UK and Denmark-based travel search site Momondo Group for $550 million in cash. Momondo offers a metasearch engine for hotels, flights, and cars in Europe. Priceline bought the company from its previous owner Great Hill Partners, a private equity firm that invested $130 million in the Momondo Group in 2014 taking a majority stake.
