Istanbul-based Modacruz, an online marketplace for second-hand women’s fashion items, has raised $2 million in a Series B round. The investment was led by Middle East Venture Partners (MEVP), with participation from Hummingbird and Nevzat Aydin. This marks the third successful round for Modacruz, which received seed funding from Aslanoba Capital in July 2014.
The startup behind Turkish urban ride-sharing app Volt has raised $550,000 from MEVP and Saned Partners in Beirut. The company aims to tap into the sharing economy by matching individual drivers with passengers who’d like to go in the same direction.
