Amsterdam-based Framer raises $24 million for its interactive design tool

Dutch startup Framer, which has developed the interactive design platform Framer X, has raised $24 million in a Series B funding round led by Atomico with participation from Accel and AngelList. Founded in 2014, the company has raised a total of $33 million so far.

Framer X is marketed as a single tool for design, prototyping, and developer handoff, on which teams — from designers to engineers — can collaborate and build digital products. The startup said that its product has been used in the creation of Twitter Threads and Dropbox Paper. It also disclosed that the number of monthly active users of Framer X has tripled over the past three months.

Framer plans to use the capital injection to more than triple its team by adding product development, engineering, sales and on-the-ground support roles in North America, Europe, and Asia.
