Digital Republic acquires Gamesrocket to create Germany's largest online video game store

German Digital Republic Media Group has acquired Gamesrocket, a leading distributor of video games in Germany and internationally. The amount of the deal was not disclosed.

German Digital Republic Media Group has acquired Gamesrocket, a leading distributor of video games in Germany and internationally. The amount of the deal was not disclosed.

Digital Republic specializes in the digital marketing of software and games, selling more than 500,000 digital products. With the takeover, Digital Republic will become the largest German online store for video games.

United Games GmbH, a subsidiary of Digital Republic, will take over the management of Gamesrocket. United Games already operates one of the leading German companies marketing games for PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo through McGame.com.

The combination of McGame.com and Gamesrocket creates the largest German online store for digital games, with 1.5 million customers.
