Open source 3D printer RepRap brings in €1 million to develop new products

German 3D printing company RepRap has received €1 million in funding from BayBG Bayerische Beteiligungsgesellschaft.

German 3D printing company RepRap has received €1 million in funding from BayBG Bayerische Beteiligungsgesellschaft.

RepRap produces a low-cost 3D printer capable of printing plastic objects. The company's printer is self-replicating, as its parts are made of plastic and can be printed to assemble another machine. RepRap's printer is open source, and the most widely used printer among members of the Maker Community.

According to the company, it will use the funding to finance the development of new products.
