German robotic toy maker Kinematics raises €2.5 million

German Kinematics, manufacturer of Tinkerbots, robot-based toys for children, has raised €2.5 million in a financing round. Investors include the Investment Bank of the State of Brandenburg (ILB), KOELBE Unternehmensbeteiligungen GmbH, and business angels.

German Kinematics, manufacturer of Tinkerbots, robot-based toys for children, has raised €2.5 million from the Investment Bank of the State of Brandenburg (ILB), KOELBE Unternehmensbeteiligungen GmbH, and business angels.

Tinkerbots says it will use the funds to further develop its robotics toy kits, strengthen its presence in the retail toy sector and to open up further international markets. At the Bernau location, the company is currently developing and producing LEGO-compatible robotics kits with a staff of 25, with which children from the age of six can playfully interact with robotics, technology and sensor technology.
