Berlin startup Vimcar has attracted an investment of $5.5 in Series A financing. The funding comes from Unternehmertum Venture Capital Partners, which has also invested in the European bus service Flixbus. The German VC Coparion has also invested in the company.
Vimcar offers hardware that plugs into cars, connected to an app that tracks mileage and gathers other data. The company has developed a digital travel book and software that businesses can use for fleet management. Vimcar also plans to develop systems for the management of fuel cards, driver's license checks and leasing contracts.
The company already has 5,000 customers in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, and plans to use the new funding to further develop its products.
