Ticketing startup Tiqets raises $17 million Series B round

Tiqets, a Dutch ticketing startup, has raised $17 million in a Series B round of funding led by HPE Growth Capital.

Tiqets is a smartphone app for buying tickets for events and museums. It plans to use the new funds to scale globally. It’s active in six European cities and New York.

The Amsterdam-based startup’s service is a response to demand for last-minute tickets to attractions and events, said its CEO Luuc Elzinga. It plans to launch in more cities and expand its partner network. The ticketing and event app space is a pretty busy one with the likes of Eventbrite and Ticketbud

Tiqets previously won the Tech5 competition, which recognised Europe’s fastest growing startups, and raised $4 million in its Series A last year.

“We are impressed with the company’s focussed business model, the team’s speed of execution and its drive for a superior customer experience in combination with the highest quality offering,” said HPE principal, Jonne de Leeuw.
