German mobility startup Moovel, a subsidiary of Daimler, has acquired Familonet GmbH which is based in Hamburg. The amount of the deal was not disclosed.

German urban mobility startup Moovel, a subsidiary of Daimler, has acquired Familonet GmbH, which is based in Hamburg. The amount of the deal was not disclosed.

Moovel is an urban mobility app that allows you to search for, book, and pay for public transport, car2go, mytaxi, rental bikes, and trains. Familonet is a family and friends locator app with 2 million registered users, which facilitates communication between family, friends, and coworkers.

"Familonet's expertise is an ideal addition to the Moovel development team," said Dr. Oliver Wahlen, CEO of Moovel. "Both the mobile geolocation technology and the team of developers with location expertise are a great gain for Moovel."
