Russian jobs site HeadHunter acquires competitor Job.ru

Russian recruitment portal HeadHunter has acquired fellow Russian job search site Job.ru. No terms were disclosed. The deal was announced during the Christmas holiday and is expected to close at the end of January

Job.ru reportedly receives around 2.24 million visitors a month. As part of the deal, HeadHunter has acquired Job.ru’s assets and trademarks and will soon begin to integrate the two portals.

The portals will provide both job hunters and employers more HR and employment services in order to become the leader in the Russian market, said HeadHunter CEO Mikhail Zhukov in a statement.

HeadHunter, originally part of the Mail.ru group, is now owned by Russian investment firm Elbrus Capital and provides recruitment search services in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, and Kazakhstan.
