TickX raises £3 million to make event ticket search easier

UK ticketing startup TickX has announced a £3 million Series A round led by BGF Ventures with participation from music and events firm Ministry of Sound and 24 Haymarket.

Manchester-based TickX is a ticket and events search platform where users can search ticket availability on sites like Ticketmaster and Headout in one place. TickX gets a commission from each ticket sale.

The new funds will be invested in expanding into the European market – it’s already active in the UK, Ireland, and Spain – and launching a cinema tickets service. It will further invest in its team and will be developing new features such as chatbots.

“Now, our focus is firmly on international expansion and leading innovation in the multi-billion pound global experience market,” said CEO Steve Pearce. The new funding from BGF Ventures and our other fantastic investors will drive us towards becoming the go-to destination for experience-lovers across the world.”

The company previously appeared on BBC TV show Dragons’ Den last year, turning down three offers of £75,000.
