UK-based enterprise cloud platform CTERA raises $30 million to grow its presence in Asia

The UK's CTERA Networks, a secure cloud file-sharing platform for enterprise customers, has raised $30 million in a funding round led by Red Dot Capital Partners. A new investor Singtel Innov8 and all existing shareholders—Benchmark Capital, Bessemer Venture Partners, Cisco, Venrock, Vintage Investment Partners, and Viola Group—also participated in the round.

The company is planning to use the fresh capital for its global expansion with a focus on Southeast Asia and Singapore. As part of the funding deal, Yaniv Stern, managing partner at Red Dot Capital Partners, will join the CTERA board.

“CTERA addresses one of the hottest topics in IT today, which is how to provide corporate users with secure and accelerated data access from any device to any cloud,” Stern said.

The company said that it has more than doubled its enterprise software subscription revenue over the past year and signed strategic reselling agreements with IBM and HPE. Its clients across the world include McDonald’s, WPP Plc, and the U.S. Department of Defence, and more. In total, the company claims to have “millions of corporate users and tens of thousands of cloud-enabled offices worldwide.”
