Shopery, a SaaS startup for marketplace building, has landed a €1.2 million funding round from Antai and K Fund. The company is targeting the 112,000 small businesses across Spain that aren't represented online due to lack of knowledge and experience, setup and maintenance time, and budget constraints.
Instead of helping merchants to build separate online stores, Shopery decided to go the marketplace way.
“We believe that marketplaces are the opportunity for small merchants and SMBs to start selling online”, said Franc Vidal, co-founder and CEO of Shopery. “Marketplace operators take on the role of acquiring traffic and sales for the merchants, by investing in advertisement and promotions, in technology, in logistics and in many other aspects. Thus reducing the time, budget and knowledge requirements for small businesses, adapting to their lack of digital maturity.”
