Rotterdam-based online maritime travel agency C Teleport raises €1.2 million

C Teleport, a Dutch online travel agency that uses AI to enable companies in the maritime industry to book flight tickets, has raised 1.2 million euros from Mainport Innovation Fund II.

Mainport Innovation Fund II, or MIF II, was founded in 2015 by Schiphol, KLM, TU Delft, NS and Port of Amsterdam, together with fund manager NBI Investors, to back promising companies in the logistics, transport and aviation sectors.

C Teleport says it will use the investment for product development, getting closer to global flight coverage and, ultimately, to move into the general business travel market.

The startup - which is not to be confused with Teleport - was founded by serial entrepreneur Dmitrii Beliakov in 2017 after he took note of the complexity in finding and changing maritime tickets (apparently, these need to be extremely flexible and are thus not handled very well by traditional travel agencies).
