German industrial IoT startup Cybus raises funding to scale up internationally

Hamburg-based Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) startup Cybus has secured funding ("a seven-figure sum" because Germany) from btov Partners, the investor behind the likes of Volocopter, Raisin, Blacklane, SumUp and XING.

Unnamed 'private investors and entrepreneurs' from the VC firm's network also participated in the round, which will be used mainly to grow Cybus' development, sales and marketing teams.

The startup offer a software-based IIoT gateway solution to manage the data flow between production machines, enterprise IT systems and external IIoT cloud platforms. Cybus's solution allows to efficiently connect machines and entire factories to one or more external cloud services with a granular definition of data access - right down to individual machine data points.

Industrial companies like SCHUNK and B. Braun are already managing their production data with the Cybus Connectware solution. For now focused primarily on the DACH region, the company has ambitions to address a worldwide market.
