German-founded meal-in-a-bottle startup YFood raises €4.2 million

Munich-based foodtech startup YFood has secured €4.2 million in a Series A funding round led by Five Seasons Ventures, with participation from New Ground Ventures and existing investors. The startup plans to hire more people within the next few months and focus on the markets of Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

Founded in 2017, YFood has developed a “meal drink” that can be a healthy alternative to junk food for the busy people among us. The meal drinks are priced around €3 for a 500 ml bottle, which would supposedly last you for three to five hours.

The company stated that it has served more than 2 million meals to thousands of people, selling the bottles online and through over 6,000 physical points of sale.
