Finnish startup QuietOn raises €4.5 million for noise-cancelling earbuds already sold in 120 countries

QuietOn, the Finnish developer of small noise cancelling earbuds, has announced simultaneously the closure of a €4.5 million seed round and the opening of a Series A. Seed investors were led by Business Finland, along with angel investors from Finland and Europe at large.

The Oulu-based company touts its patented earbuds are the world’s smallest for active noise cancelling, designed to “create a peaceful, Nordic experience of quietude on demand.” After launching the product on Indiegogo and selling it through Amazon and airline travel retail channels, the startup’s customer base now spans 120 countries. “QuietOn is well-positioned as we now enter our Series A raise, given our millions of dollars in revenue and profitability,” said CEO Jussi Lemiläinen.

The seed funding will go toward “aggressive growth plans” throughout Europe, North America and Asia. The planned A round funding will be used for both R&D as well as global marketing and sales.
