London-based Verne Global gets $27 million to expand Icelandic data center campus

Verne Global, a London-based provider of data center solutions for high performance computing (HPC), has raised $27 million to expand its Icelandic data center campus, which was founded in 2012. All existing investors – the Wellcome Trust, Novator Partners, Stefnir and General Catalyst – participated in the round.

The funding and campus expansion allows the UK company to serve more enterprise clients that have demanding and complex HPC needs. Verne Global not only offers the technological power but also bespoke consultation and support for each client. As a result, customers from across financial services, engineering, scientific research and other industries have delivered a 98 percent satisfaction rating and a Net Promoter score of 88.

“Our customers grow their compute requirements with us because they are able to operate more effectively with us than anywhere else,” says CEO Dominic Ward.
