Swiss SaaS startup GUURU raises $5 million to help companies 'excel in customer service'

Zurich, Switzerland-based SaaS start-up GUURU has extended its Series A financing round with another $5 million, bringing the total to $7.9 million. The round was led by Spark Invest and joined by existing investors Investiere, EquityPitcher Ventures and Swiss Post Ventures.

GUURU offers a customer interaction solution that combines AI technology with support for human customer support. Its 'SmartBot' platform can leverage its client's community of experienced product users and knowledge base to help customers in real time and in a personalised way, while more complex issues and questions are rerouted to customer service agents.

With the fresh cash, the company says it plans to double down on its expansion in Europe while continuing to invest in product development.

Its lead investor, Martin Altorfer from Spark Invest, comments: "It is obvious that machine learning-powered solutions are the future in customer service. The fact that GUURU combines it with peer-to-peer support makes this solution so powerful and exciting. We strongly believe that involving the community is a big differentiating factor to the common automated approaches on the market."
