Highland Europe launches €700 million fund for growth-stage startups

Highland Europe, a VC firm with dual headquarters in London and Geneva, has closed its fourth fund, raising €700 million to invest in startups across the continent. The VC is already building on its track record of investing in consumer tech brands and software companies such as Brandwatch, ContentSquare, GetYourGuide, Huel, WeTransfer and Wolt. Over the past year, the firm says it has backed seven new teams, investing nearly €200 million in Alkemics, Cobalt, DominoDatalab, Farewill, Meditopia, Modulr and Supermetrics, as well as existing portfolio companies. The team also announced that Jean Tardy-Joubert, Gajan Rajanathan and Ronan Shally have been promoted to partner. The new fund brings the firm’s assets under management to €1.8 billion. Back in June 2018, the firm announced a €463 million fund.
