Avedon Capital acquires Wuppertal/Hamburg-based Netzkern, forms new group together with Hoofddorp-based Macaw

Through an acquisition of German firm Netzkern, Avedon Capital is forming a new tech services group via Netherlands-based Macaw. The merging of the two companies is reported to form the biggest Sitecore player in Europe.

London-based M&A advisory firm Ciesco was the exclusive sell-side advisor to Netzkern.

Macaw, which has a headcount of around 350 employees currently operates in the Netherlands and Germany, and focuses mainly on digital marketing, e-commerce, data and AI. Their ambitions of reaching a 1,000 employee company by 2025 are further strengthened by the Netzkern acquisition, as the later is one of the top Sitecore specialists in the DACH region with clients including Dusseldorf Airport, RWE, Festool and Vonovia.

“In recent years, we've seen the agency world change dramatically and in order to serve our clients even better, we're delighted to join forces with Macaw. In Macaw we have found a match in terms of company culture, passion and ambition,” comments Netzkern Co-CEO Thomas Golatta.

No financial figures were provided on the acquisition.
