Parisian startup picks up €4.5 million to revolutionise how brands communicate with web stories

The advent of social media has transformed how audiences consume content, search for information and shop online, with content that is increasingly visual and interactive. The transition of story formats to the web was a natural one, and their adoption is already impressive: over 20 million web stories are already online worldwide, with 100,000 new web stories posted every day.

Cashing in on the new trend, Paris-based JOIN has raised €4.5 million. The first round was led by XAnge and the English fund Seedcamp and saw the participation of multiple renowned business angels, including the founders of Voodoo, Zenly, Jellysmack, Bergamotte and AB Tasty).

With the fresh capital infusion, the platform aims to become a leading player in the visual web transition. The company is looking at strengthening tech, product, sales and marketing teams, in order to create new website experiences, and offer a more interactive user path (shopping, recommended articles, etc).

Founded in 2018 by Jonathan Szwarc and Nicolas Goudemant, the startup offers a turnkey solution for creating, publishing, and monetising stories on all communication channels such as websites, mobile applications and e-mail. It helps brands to replicate a user experience as strong as that of a social network on their own platforms.

Jonathan Szwarc, co-founder of JOIN said: “Social platforms have invented a new way of consuming content with stories, which have been massively adopted by the general public.

Introduced on the web by Google, JOIN is popularising this technology, and making it available on brand websites. The user experience is completely revamped, based on more visual, dynamic and interactive content.”

The startup, which already has multiple clients in Brazil, the U.S. and Switzerland, wants to strengthen their international presence by approaching new markets.

Currently, it has clients which includes the likes of L’Oréal, CDiscount, Carrefour, Ouest France.
