As EU and African Union leaders meet in Brussels to try and reboot damaged relations today, we took a look at the recent influx of European venture capital in the fast-developing African tech market.

Africa may only have nine tech unicorns, but five of those were minted in 2021. Four of them, Flutterwave, OPay, Chipper Cash, and Wave, are fintechs, while Andela recruits remote engineering talent.
