Heex Technologies, a French smart data management startup that helps developers tackle delivery of AI apps, has closed on a €3.2 million pre-seed round led by early-stage VC firm Karista.
The funding is made up of €2 million of equity and €1.2 million of non-dilutive financing, and also includes Bpifrance, Google's Black Founders Fund, Techstars and angel names such as Alexei Chemenda (founder of social consumer app startup studio Sociaaal).
AI is perhaps the biggest addition to the enterprise's inventory in the last 10 years or so. But making it run well means getting to grips with big data flows, which has led to a slate of software enterprises promising to make the process more intuitive, particularly for smaller companies who lack internal software engineering resources.
Heex Technologies' smart data stack runs from the cloud and on edge devices like connected vehicles. It also includes a simulation development kit, allowing enterprises to turn its smart data into "virtualised intelligent systems."
