Belgium's Enersee does a rebrand, raises €1.2 million and uses AI to decarbonise offices, hospitals and industrial buildings

Enersee, the Belgian energy management software start-up formerly known as Eneos, has raised €1.2 million in Seed funding. The round was led by Peak

Founded in 2020 by Maarten Van de Vijver and Joachim Vleminckx, it is targeting large real estate portfolios, offices, hospitals and industrial buildings - using advanced AI to give energy managers the tools to monitor energy performance and consumption more effectively – reducing waste, costs and of course the carbon footprint!

“The challenges in energy, climate targets, and ESG in buildings are so immense that current methods will not cut it. That’s why we developed our Virtual Energy Manager, to apply expert-level insights to millions of buildings, real-time," says Vleminckx.

The fresh funding will enable Enersee to 'bolster its team', increase its offering and expand its customer base across Europe - it currently has offices in Brussels and Antwerp.

“The team's approach to revolutionising energy management for real estate and facilities is extraordinary, perfectly timed to address global decarbonisation and energy cost reduction. With their strong background within the energy management space, Maarten and Joachim have secured customers with a portfolio of 1510 buildings. Their remarkable drive to sincerely impact this somewhat traditional market convinced us to invest in their company,” says Philippe von Klitzing, Investment Manager at Peak.
