Data connectivity provider CData Software has announced the acquisition of Data Virtuality, a global provider of data integration and management solutions. The terms of the acquisition are undisclosed except that Seed investor HGTF will sell its shares.

CData’s SaaS enables data access across different parts of a business’ cloud as well as using natural language processing (NLP) to allow more specific datasets to be selected and interpreted — a ‘data warehouse’ experience. In turn, this allows employees to solve complex problems more quickly and consult fewer colleagues with data requests.

CData uses a bi-modal integration stack that allows customers to leverage both data replication and live data integration to connect to their data within one common platform. The acquisition allows it to incorporate Data Virtuality’s enterprise-grade data virtualization platform so that employees across an organisation can access more live data.

Headquartered in Germany with offices in the US, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), Data Virtuality has customers including global enterprise brands like BSH Hausgeräte, New York University (NYU), Crédit Agricole, and PartnerRe.

“Data Virtuality is proud to share CData’s commitment to empowering businesses to unleash and maximize the full potential of their data,” said Dr. Nick Golovin, founder and CEO of Data Virtuality. “Together, our global scale and market-leading technology provide a tremendous opportunity to more flexibly meet business requirements. By abstracting away technical complexity with our newly combined technology suite, we support data democratisation, enabling more people within businesses to efficiently work with data. HTGF has been a reliable and constructive partner from the beginning and has always provided valuable support. Thanks!”
