Turkish mediatech startup Fal.ai has raised $49M in a Series B funding round led by Notable Capital, with participation from Andreessen Horowitz, Bessemer Venture Partners, Kindred Ventures, and First Round. This brings Fal’s total funding to $72M.
Previously, the company secured $23M across two funding rounds: a $14M Series A led by Kindred Ventures and a $9M seed round led by Andreessen Horowitz.
Founded in 2021 by Burkay Gur and Gorkem Yurtseven, Fal is a developer-focused platform specialising in AI-generated audio, video, and images. The company focuses on AI-powered media creation, particularly video, and serves enterprises like Quora, Canva, and Perplexity. The funding will support infrastructure expansion, a model marketplace, and team growth.
The company offers privately managed compute resources and workflows for running models, as well as APIs for open-source models that generate various forms of media.
The team commented on the raise: "Generative media is expanding faster than we ever imagined, and video is its next frontier. Fal has raised a $49M Series B to fuel our mission: building the core infrastructure for AI-driven media creation."
“Fal currently powers 40% of Poe's official image and video generation bots. The fal team is one of the fastest-moving organizations we work with and consistently goes the extra mile to optimize inference and ensure great user experience." added Adam D’Angelo, CEO of client Quora.
"We are excited to work together to scale both of our platforms as the incredibly rapid progress in AI continues and we make it accessible to the world.” added Adam D’Angelo, CEO of client Quora.
