Kazimi raises €2.2M pre-seed to tackle bot activity in mobile marketing

Berlin-based mobile cybersecurity startup Kazimi has raised €2.2 million in an oversubscribed pre-seed round to scale its technology for securing and verifying first-party data used by app developers for marketing analytics and AI. The round was led by Market One Capital, with participation from IBB Ventures and several mobile and technology industry executives, including Petri Hyökyranta (former Rovio CTO), Janne Peltola (former Supercell data scientist), and Erik Massmann (former CFO of Birkenstock Group and Sportradar).

Kazimi is developing security technology that helps mobile app developers determine whether activity within their apps comes from genuine users or automated bots. Its solution secures communication signals generated by an app, enabling developers to collect and verify first-party data, identify non-human activity and maintain user privacy.

The company is addressing a growing challenge for mobile businesses as automated internet traffic increases. Data from Cloudflare indicates that bot activity exceeded human activity on the internet in 2026, while AppsFlyer reports that bots remain a major source of fraudulent activity across mobile channels.

Kazimi uses privacy-preserving cryptographic proofs to verify interactions without compromising users' personal data. The company says the technology is designed to improve the accuracy of data used for analytics, marketing and AI applications while supporting compliance with data protection requirements.

Until now it has been technically impossible for app developers to have true visibility on which signals originate from real users and which signals come from bots. With our advanced security solution, we are closing the loop and enabling app developers to protect their most important resource - their first party data,

said Andreas Naumann, co-founder and Chief Product Officer of Kazimi.

Kazimi's founders previously worked on security and fraud-detection systems at mobile measurement company Adjust before its acquisition by AppLovin in 2021. The team has also developed security systems for other mobile analytics companies and networks.

Kazimi's technology is aimed at apps that rely on marketing spending to acquire and retain customers. Its current clients include mobile gaming studios, rewards platforms and fintech apps.

The company plans to use the funding to scale its technology and expand its presence in the global mobile advertising market.
