Brussels-based robotics company Motion has raised $2 million in pre-seed funding to expand its Humanoids-as-a-Service (HaaS) platform and move its existing industrial pilots into commercial deployment. The round was led by Extantia Capital, with participation from Norrsken Evolve.
Founded in 2026, Motion provides humanoid robots to industrial, warehouse and logistics companies through a subscription-based model designed to reduce the upfront cost and operational complexity associated with adopting the technology.
Rather than requiring customers to purchase and deploy robots themselves, Motion charges a monthly fee covering the deployment process, including data collection, robot selection, task training, IT integration, fleet management, financing, insurance, compliance and maintenance.
Motion is currently running five pilots with industrial, warehouse and logistics companies in Belgium. Its humanoid robots are being trained for tasks including loading goods into crates, packing containers into boxes and placing components on conveyor belts, working alongside existing employees.
The company is positioning its technology as one way to address labour shortages across European manufacturing, where businesses are increasingly struggling to fill operational roles. However, Motion says the adoption of humanoid robots remains limited by financing, integration, regulatory and operational requirements associated with deploying and managing robotic fleets.

The company's hardware-agnostic model is designed to allow customers to use robots suited to specific applications without committing to a single manufacturer. Motion also operates a European software layer through which deployment experience can be applied across its network while individual customers retain control of their data.
Alongside its direct deployments, Motion is launching a partner programme for system integrators and automation specialists, enabling them to deploy humanoid robots for their own customers using Motion's platform.
The new funding will be used to move Motion's five existing pilots into full production, expand its team and increase its robot fleet. The company will initially focus on growing across the Benelux region.
