Product compliance technology company Complir has raised $11 million in seed funding to expand its AI-powered platform that helps retailers and brands manage regulatory requirements. The round was led by General Catalyst, with participation from angel investors and specialist industry funds. It follows Complir’s $2 million pre-seed round in December 2025.
Founded in 2024 by Gustav Bang, Tine Kühnel and Marc Brejner, Complir is developing an AI-based infrastructure platform that automates parts of the product compliance process. The platform is designed for retailers and brands managing large product portfolios across multiple markets and regulatory regimes.
Product compliance remains heavily reliant on manual processes, spreadsheets and legacy enterprise systems, requiring companies to keep track of changing rules covering product safety, packaging, batteries, data protection and other areas. Requirements vary across products and markets, while non-compliance can result in delayed launches, rejected shipments, recalls and fines.
Complir’s platform uses AI to map product information against applicable regulations and generate documentation required to bring products to market. It monitors regulatory changes at the individual SKU level and automatically reassesses products that may be affected, with compliance flags linked back to their regulatory sources.
The company says its technology can reduce repetitive compliance, quality and regulatory work by up to 90 per cent. According to Complir, customers save an average of 15 hours and approximately $700 per product iteration, while reducing time to market by as much as three months.
Gustav Bang, co-founder and CEO of Complir, said product compliance is becoming a significant operational challenge for global retailers as they manage increasingly complex regulations across large product portfolios, while many compliance processes remain manual.
We're building the AI infrastructure that allows compliance, quality and regulatory teams to move faster, reduce risk, and bring products to market with confidence, and ultimately limit people’s exposure to dangerous products,
said Bang.
Complir will use the funding to expand its commercial and go-to-market activities, invest further in engineering and product development, and grow its team as it targets enterprise retailers and brands across Europe.
