Finches lands €2M to help food producers spot supply risks earlier

Bavaria-based agritech Finches has raised €2 million in a pre-seed funding round led by High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF), with Vanagon Ventures joining as co-lead. Bayern Kapital participated as a new investor, while existing backer UnternehmerTUM Funding for Innovators and a syndicate of strategic industry and tech angels provided follow-on funding.

Finches is developing a platform designed to help companies that depend on agricultural raw materials identify potential supply risks earlier. The company is addressing growing volatility in agricultural supply chains caused by climate change, extreme weather and geopolitical crises, which can affect crop availability and quality months before problems become visible further along the supply chain.

The platform combines companies' internal procurement data, including supplier profiles, cultivated acreage and contracts, with external information such as weather patterns, satellite imagery, local news, scientific insights and field reports from agronomists. It analyses these inputs to provide early warnings, identify affected regions and supply chains, and give sourcing teams more time to respond to potential disruptions before they affect production.

Highlighting why earlier visibility has become increasingly important for food producers, Catharina van Delden, CEO and co-founder of Finches, said the drought showed that European companies can no longer rely on securing the volumes and quality of raw materials they need each season:

Sourcing raw materials has become a core issue of supply security. While risk signals usually emerge weeks ahead of time, procurement teams rarely see them in time to act. This funding lets us bring Finches to more companies, so they can line up backup suppliers, buy earlier, or reschedule production while there is still time.

Finches Intelligence launched in September 2026. Its early customers include a leading organic baby food manufacturer and a North American Fortune 500 food conglomerate.

Finches will use the new funding to accelerate product development and expand its sales operations.
