Belgian telecom Destiny snaps up Telepo and Soluno

Belgian telecoms provider Destiny is marching forward with its goal of becoming the leading European cloud communications solutions for SMEs, announcing its acquisitions of Swedish firms Telepo and Soluno. Telepo has been on the scene since 2003, and provides enterprise-grade unified communications solutions to businesses and service providers, one of whom is/was Destiny. The two have a long-standing relationship, and given the fruitful collaboration, Destiny refers to the acquisition as a no-brainer. “This is a transformational step for Telepo and marks the start of an incredible new chapter for both companies as well as our service provider partners. Destiny will be able to standardise on Telepo technology for the group-wide platform to drive consistency and future growth. The Telepo team will benefit from Destiny’s strategy and resources to accelerate innovation and further enhance our offerings to better enable our Service Provider partners to compete and win in their markets,” commented Telepo GM Rami Houbby. On the other side of the acquisition coin, Soluno is also a cloud-based communications platform, and notably, one of the largest and most expansive operator-independent players in the field. Through this acquisition, Destiny gains a strong entry position into the Nordics. Soluno, in turn, is also a client of Telepo, and thus, no technological changes will need to be made once coming under the Destiny umbrella. In total, Destiny will now be made up of over 600 employees operating out of 6 markets (Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Sweden, Germany, and the UK), and has a projected turnover rate of €170 million for 2021. While these acquisitions are strong moves on a big scale for Destiny, if the name is ringing any bells, let’s not forget about the acquisition they made just three months ago of serial entrepreneur Mathis André’s Faqbot. Financial details of the acquisitions remain undisclosed.
